Raspberry Leaf 1kg £15.50
Raspberry leaf is best known for supporting normal hormone balance, a healthy reproductive system and pregnancy. It is often selected by mares who experience discomfort and irritability during their seasons. Compounds in the leaves appear to regulate hormonal swings and also to smooth muscle tone in both the reproductive and gastrointestinal systems improving comfort and wellbeing. It may also help support healthy hormone balance in geldings and stallions, helping them to feel and behave well.
Other than during early pregnancy, raspberry leaf is an excellent herb for mares during pregnancy. It may aid in preventing miscarriage. It helps to tone, support and strengthen the uterus and uterine muscles to assist with contractions during foaling, so it is particularly useful to offer it during the last six weeks leading up to giving birth (and a few weeks after). It is also used to help support the flushing or cleansing of the uterus after birth. Its high vitamin and mineral content may also help with milk production.
Raspberry leaf tea has been used for centuries as a tonic to improve women’s health and decrease problems associated with menstruation and pregnancy.
The leaves contain vitamins A, C and E and also B vitamins. They are rich in minerals such as calcium, magnesium, potassium, selenium and iron, supporting a healthy gastro-intestinal system and strong bones. They also contain polyphenols, flavonoids and other antioxidants. As an astringent herb, raspberry leaf has long been used as a traditional remedy for diarrhoea and “wet” coughs.
Do not use during early pregnancy.
